Patan Durbar Square - Thomas L. Kelly

Shelter and Sanctuary-New Himalayan Design

Donor figure with ritual oil lamp installed in a wall niche, at the entrance to the museum galleries. The two parts of the terracotta framing were found in the museum’s garden during renovation and are probably remains of a temple destroyed in an earthquake.
(CLAIRE'S: At the entry to the galleries, a donor figure with hands gesturing “Namaste” welcomes the visitor. )
