Rinpung Dzong, Paro
Ripung Dzong is one of Bhutan's most impressive and well known dzongs, and the finest example of Bhutanese architecture. The dzong is known as Paro Dzong, which means "fortress on a heap of jewels. The dzong has always been one of Bhutan's strongest and most important fortresses and on numerous occasions was used to defend the Paro Valley from invasion by Tibet.
